Modernist Barcelona
This is a specially designed route that leads the visitor around Barcelona’s finest examples of Catalan modernism. You’ll discover the works of well-known architects such as Antonio Gaudí, Josep Puig i Cadafalch and Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Catalan modernism, while part of a European-wide trend, acquired a distinct local flavor. This was primarily due to the development of the cultural differences that Catalonia – and particularly Barcelona – was experiencing, regarding Spanish culture. This was known as the Renaixença, or the resurgence of Catalan culture, at a time of major urban and industrial development. We can therefore say that Catalan modernism, as we will see during our tour, is an urban, bourgeois style. It was used by the wealthy bourgeoisie as a form of expressing, through their residences, their Catalan identity, wealth and class.
During this tour, you will see highly original and unusual buildings such as Casa Batlló (Batlló House) and the Palau de la Música Catalana (Palace of Catalan Music). Above all, we will visit Gaudí’s masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia.

Memories of Early La Pau and La Verneda
For those looking to explore urban areas outside the city center, this walking tour will guide you through the social movements, communities and the development of the city of Barcelona.
The name of Verneda refers to some of the trees that grow outside the rivers, the verns. The neighborhood is closely related to La Pau, which means “Peace”. These districts form an urban and social community where we can see how together, preservation and peace have manifested in the neighborhood and community collectives. The first group of houses was promoted by the Municipal Housing Board, in the 50's and was a popular area for immigrant workers in Barcelona through the later half of the 19th century. In this walking tour, we explore the story behind this community; the history of life in the area, and the social movements behind urban development of this neighborhood. Get ready to take a step back in time and experience the story of urban immigrant life, trials, tribulations and ultimately, prosperity.

Sagrada Familia with Gaudi
The Sagrada Familia is undoubtedly the most famous piece of Gaudi architecture, although paradoxically he was not the one who initiated the work and much less the one to complete it.
As you will see throughout this visit, the temple is full of symbolism, both inside and out. The basilica, dedicated to the "Sagrada Familia" or Holy Family, tells the biblical tales of its respective members: Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in each of the parts into which it is divided, in addition to being able to observe the multiple ecclesiastical references of various kinds, which enhance the religious significance of this architectural work. With all this, you are about to discover an unparalleled construction guided by the same architect who designed it: Gaudí. He will be the one who guides you through this unique tour and will reveal to you the deeper aspects of his work.
