Whitehall

South of Charing Cross is Whitehall, the site of the main British government offices, as well as the residence of the prime minister, and to the east the Victoria Embankment traces the Thames from the Houses of Parliament to the City of London. On this street is located the Whithall Palace – the famous Banqueting House. As well as government buildings, the street is known for its memorial statues and monuments, including the UK's primary war memorial, the Cenotaph.
