Shaftesbury Avenue and Theatres

Shaftesbury Avenue & Theatres is an important street that is particularly associated with the West End theatres with most of them being at the Piccadilly end. Shaftesbury Avenue takes in a number of the city’s more notable locales including Charing Cross Road, Cambridge Circus, and three of the largest theatres, Queen's Theatre, Palace Theatre, and Shaftesbury, originally named The Princes Theatre. The street's length means that it straddles both the City of Westminster and the borough of Camden, cutting through Chinatown and the Covent Garden.
