Queen's House
ABOUT
The Queen's House is part of Royal Museums Greenwich which includes the Royal Observatory, Cutty Sark, and the National Maritime Museum. From the 1670s the Queen's House was used as a residence for royal servants and artists, including the van de Veldes, who came to London from Holland by royal invitation in 1672. Now it is home to an internationally renowned art collection, Inigo Jones’ architectural masterpiece is the first Classical building in the UK. As a visitor you will get a chance to admire the classical design of the House - one of the most important buildings in English architecture, see the spectacular new art commission by Turner Prize-winning artist Richard Wright and the Armada Portrait of Elizabeth I.
