Overview:
Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is one of the most rewarding and inexpensive cities in Europe. It positively delights in its location on the banks of the wide River Danube. There are historic parts high above Buda - and a wealth of Art Nouveau or “Secession” architecture and urban buzz in Pest and the city is alive after decades of stultifying Communism. I’ve created three walking guides and this first one is out along the imposing Andrassy Avenue to the City Park. You can walk all three kilometres if you want – or there’s Metro Line One – the Millenium Line – which runs straight along Andrassy Avenue… You can start from Budapest’s main transport hub, Erzebet Square…
